Improving frequency response for AC interconnected microgrids containing renewable energy resources

Interconnecting two or more microgrids can help improve power system performance under changing operational circumstances by providing mutual and bidirectional assistance. This study proposes interconnected AC based on three renewable energy sources (wind, solar, biogas). The wind turbine powers a permanent magnet synchronous generator. A solar photovoltaic with an appropriate inverter has been installed. In the biogas generator, engine is connected to M 1 2 , microgrids, are investigated in this study. hydro turbine, which provides constant power. distribution loss, frequency, voltage of modeled as multi-objective function (OF). Minimizing OF will result optimal flow frequency enhancement microgrids. research different from rest works that talk about virtual inertia control (VIC) method, it not only improves using controller but also achieves paper, following five controllers have studied: proportional integral (PI), fractional-order PI (FOPI), fuzzy (FPI), (FFOPI), VIC FFOPI controller. tuned particle swarm optimization (PSO) minimize main contribution paper comprehensive step load disturbances, eventual grid following/forming contingencies, resources used structure simulation results recorded MATLAB™ platform. voltages frequencies both settle zero steady-state error disturbance within 0.5 s less overshoots/undershoots (3.7e-5/-0.12e-3) VIC.
